Rodgers calm ahead of title showdown
Liverpool boss Brendan Rodgers says his side will 'embrace' the pressure of a potential Premier League title showdown with Manchester City at Anfield next weekend.
The title rivals will go toe-to-toe next Sunday, with the Reds currently top of the table by two points and four clear of the Citizens, who have two games in hand.
And Rodgers, whose side have now won nine consecutive league games following a 2-1 victory at West Ham, insists that his attacking outfit will not be phased by the occasion when City head to Merseyside.
He told the club's official website: "Manchester City are strong and have every component to do well. They'll be looking to come to Anfield and get a result.
"We're embracing whatever pressure is supposed to be and enjoying our football. There's no nerves.
"With the team we put together, the mentality is to be fearless - it doesn't matter who we play.
"We have to respect them because they've got world-class players, but it's about ourselves and the confidence we have to play. The youngsters will embrace it and enjoy it - there's no pressure on them."
City edged the first meeting of the two sides this season 2-1 at the Etihad Stadium, while both league clashes last term ended in 2-2 draws.
The Reds can be backed at 2.40 to win on home turf next Sunday and are 10.00 to triumph by a 2-1 scoreline, while Liverpool are available at 2.87 to win the league title for the first time since 1989-90.
