Arjen Robben says scoring the winner in this year's Champions League final has allowed him to put past disappointments behind him.

Robben scored in the 89th minute to hand Bayern a 2-1 victory over Borussia Dortmund at Wembley on Saturday evening.

The Dutchman has twice lost European club football's biggest match, missing a penalty in last season's decider, and also tasted defeat in the 2010 World Cup final against Spain.

"You don't want the stamp of a loser," said Robben. "There was all the disappointment of last year but I personally also had the World Cup. That was three finals.

"It wasn't so much pressure. I tried to make it into positive energy. I couldn't start thinking negatively, otherwise it would be too difficult.

"Tonight I scored the goal. We did it and we can forget about the other things."
