Bayern Munich swept aside woeful Hamburg at the Allianz Arena this afternoon to go second in the Bundesliga table.
Daniel van Buyten gave the home side an early lead before Franck Ribery swiftly added a second.
Arjen Robben put the result beyond doubt before the interval and Mario Gomez and Ivica Olic were on target in the second half of an embarrassingly one-sided encounter.
Bayern coach Jupp Heynckes left nothing to chance after the midweek win over Zurich in the Champions League and opted against resting the likes of Ribery, Robben and Gomez.
The only new face in his team was Van Buyten for Jerome Boateng, and it proved a telling change as he put Bayern ahead in the 13th minute.
Robben sent in a free-kick from the right and the Belgian defender met the ball with a determined header past Jaroslav Drobny.
Four minutes later, Ribery made it two when he dribbled his way into the area before slotting a shot into the far corner.
Bayern were making everything look easy against a disorganised Hamburg side, who had goalkeeper Drobny to thank for denying Gomez just after the half hour.
However, he was let down by his defence as Robben copied Ribery by dribbling his way through before shooting into the far corner.
Gomez made it four in the 56th minute, opening his account for the season.
The Germany striker exchanged passes with Thomas Muller before poking the ball past a helpless Drobny to pile the misery on the visitors.
He missed a glorious opportunity to make it five moments later when he took a little too long to shoot having already beaten Drobny, who was able to recover as a result.
Muller missed two good chances to make it five before substitute Olic gave the result an even more realistic feel.
The Croatian was in the right place at the right time to head Holger Badstuber's header in from close range in the 80th minute.
