Inter play down Blanc links

Inter Milan president Massimo Moratti has denied reports that France coach Laurent Blanc will be the club's next manager.

Inter, who finished second in the league behind rivals Milan last season, are looking for a new coach with Leonardo expected to leave the club this summer to accept a sporting director's position at Paris St Germain.

Blanc has been strongly linked in recent days with the Nerazzurri hotseat. However, Moratti believes he will not be leaving the French setup.

''Besides the fact that Blanc coaches the French national team, hence we deal with the problems of being able to approach him, I believe he is enjoying that experience and wants to continue to do so,'' he said. ''Hence, we have not contacted him and I don't think it is the right time to do so.''

Inter have so far been unsuccessful in their search for a new manager. Chile coach Marcelo Bielsa turned down an offer to guide Inter for personal reasons while reported target Fiorentina tactician Sinisa Mihajlovic has insisted he will remain with the Viola next season.

But, when asked if the coaching situation will be clear by the end of the week, Moratti said: ''Yes, I believe so.''
