Late Krasic winner takes points |
 |
Juventus beat Lazio thanks to a dramatic last-gasp winner at the Stadio Olimpico to move up to second in Serie A above their opponents.
Giorgio Chiellini put the home side ahead in the second minute, but Mauro Zarate equalised just 12 minutes later in a pulsating first half.
The game seemed to be heading for a stalemate until goalkeeper Nelson Muslera pushed the ball into his own goal with the last touch of the game to give the Bianconeri all three points.
Juventus made a perfect start with little over 90 seconds on the clock as Chiellini headed them in front.
The Italy defender stole in between two defenders to meet the ball with a determined header from a corner, leaving Muslera no chance.
The home side threatened a second with the lively Milos Krasic dribbling to the goal line with ease in the eighth minute and pulling the ball back to Fabio Quagliarella, who was unable to hit the target with his shot on the turn.
Lazio levelled in the 14th minute with another goal coming from a corner.
Marco Storari only got a weak hand to the ball and claimed he was fouled by Giuseppe Biava as the ball fell to Zarate, whose shot bounced in off the far post.
Sergio Floccari almost made it two when he made a strong run through, but dragged his shot wide having just shaken off the last defender.
Alberto Aquilani's free-kick deflected off the wall onto the top of the crossbar as an exciting first half continued with chances at both ends.
Krasic then pounced on a loose ball and lobbed it just over the crossbar from the edge of the area while Muslera and his defenders stood watching like statues.
The second half was a disappointment by comparison with only one clear-cut chance coming in the first minute of stoppage time.
Alessandro Del Piero tried to catch Muslera out with a direct free-kick curling inside his near post, but the Lazio goalkeeper showed a great reaction to push the ball over the crossbar.
However, he was beaten inside the very same post with just one minute of the allotted stoppage time remaining as Krasic went on one of his trademark runs to the goal line and Muslera, in trying to block his cross-shot, diverted it into his own net.
