Sweet Parma victory for Violets |
|
Second-half goals from Adem Ljajic and Lorenzo De Silvestri earned Fiorentina their first win of the Serie A season.
Ljajic opened the scoring with a 61st-minute penalty and De Silvestri's deflected effort made the game safe.
The visitors rarely threatened in a one-sided encounter and slip below their opponents in the table on goal difference as a result.
Ljajic's curling effort drew a fine fingertip save from Parma goalkeeper Antonio Mirante in the first minute.
Parma responded and Massimo Gobbi shot wide after Antonio Candreva's shot was blocked.
Ljajic saw a volley flash wide before his flick-on found Juan Vargas, who was also off target from 25 yards.
Mirante saved from Alessio Cerci's long-range drive and Vargas' volley on the turn flashed wide, but the Viola were unable to find a breakthrough before half-time.
Parma were first to threaten after the interval, but Candreva's cross eluded Fernando Marques.
But they found themselves a goal down when Alessandro Lucarelli hauled down Alberto Gilardino in the penalty area and Ljajic sent the spot-kick down the middle as Mirante obligingly dived to his right.
Valeri Bojinov drilled in a free-kick as Parma sought an equaliser, but Sebastien Frey blocked well.
And the hosts doubled their lead when full-back De Silvestri took aim just outside the area and his shot took a slight touch off Lucarelli on its way into the roof of the net.
Mirante made a stunning save to deny Fiorentina a third when Riccardo Montolivo was played in by Gilardino, but the two goals already scored meant the home team could celebrate three points.
