Napoli and Bari shared four goals to conclude the second round of matches in Serie A.
Paulo Barreto put the visitors ahead in the 12th minute, but Edison Cavani levelled for the home side after half an hour.
Paolo Cannavaro thought he had won it late on for Napoli, but Jose Castillo silenced the fans inside the Stadio San Paolo with an equaliser within a minute.
Bari were ahead after 12 minutes when Barreto met a corner which was curling in at the near post and nudged it over the line ahead of Napoli goalkeeper Morgan de Sanctis.
De Sanctis was understandably annoyed with his defence, who had not heeded the warning from a similar corner which he was forced to push behind just seconds earlier.
The Napoli attack made up for their defensive shortcomings, though, to level after half an hour.
Marek Hamsik squared the ball to Cavani, who scored his second goal in as many games, picking his spot in the bottom left-hand corner of Jean-Francois Gillet's goal.
Napoli rode their luck in the second half with Sergio Almiron causing problems.
The former Juventus midfielder could have put Bari back ahead in the 50th minute, but after being put through with only De Sanctis to beat, he tried to chip the ball over the Napoli custodian, who stretched out his arm and retrieved the ball.
At the other end, Ezequiel Lavezzi scooped the ball over the crossbar from close range after Gillet only fumbled Hamsik's shot.
Napoli got what they thought was the winning goal with three minute remaining when Lavezzi's cross from the right was just behind Jose Ernesto Sosa, who nevertheless managed to touch the ball back to Cannavaro, who picked his spot from eight yards.
Napoli were still celebrating when Castillo brought Bari level less than 60 seconds later.
Edgar Alvarez found Almiron in the penalty area and he squared the ball to Castillo, who could not miss with an open goal to aim at.
