Milan complete Boateng signing |
|
Milan have completed the signing of Kevin-Prince Boateng on a season-long loan deal from Genoa, who signed him from Portsmouth.
Genoa reportedly paid Portsmouth 6.5 million euros to sign the German-born Ghana midfielder before farming him out to their Serie A rivals.
Boateng is expected to train with his new side tomorrow and could make his debut against Juventus in the Luigi Berlusconi Trophy.
The 23-year-old becomes Milan's sixth signing of the summer and their third from Genoa.
Portsmouth chief executive David Lampitt said: "We wish Kevin all the best. He played an important role last season and we thank him for that."
Milan - who were impressed with Boateng's performances at the World Cup - have taken him for the season with the option of a permanent deal next summer.
Genoa could then make a healthy profit if he impresses at the San Siro.
Boateng, who arrived at Fratton Park from Tottenham in August 2009, scored five goals in 27 appearances for Pompey.
A Germany youth international, he opted to play for his father's country Ghana and in doing so became the first player to face his brother in a World Cup match, with Manchester City's Jerome Boateng turning out for Germany.
