D'Agostino heading for Fiorentina |
Udinese have confirmed they have sold midfielder Gaetano D'Agostino to Serie A rivals Fiorentina.
The former Roma midfielder enjoyed his best season in 2008-09, with 11 goals in 36 appearances, and was heavily pursued by Juventus and Real Madrid before both were reportedly put off by the hefty transfer fee.
It has not been disclosed how much Fiorentina have shelled out for the Italy international, who turned 27 today, but it is thought to be in the region of €9 million.
A statement on the Udinese website read: "Udinese Calcio announce they have reached an agreement with ACF Fiorentina for the sale of midfielder, Gaetano D'Agostino."
D'Agostino made his Italy debut last summer and has five caps for his country but failed to make the World Cup squad.
