Nasri edges France through

Samir Nasri's penalty took France to Euro 2012 after a tense evening against Bosnia & Herzegovina.

Edin Dzeko had given the visitors the lead five minutes before half-time, and they withstood a French onslaught early in the second half.

But Manchester City team-mate Nasri won and converted a 78th-minute spot-kick to give Les Bleus the point they required to maintain their pre-match advantage in Group D.

The away team started brightly but Haris Medunjanin shot over from distance and Senad Lulic scuffed wide after dispossessing Anthony Reveillere.

France's Loic Remy wasted a fine chance when he outpaced the defence but a heavy touch allowed keeper Kenan Hasagic to claim the ball.

Zvjezdan Misimovic curled an effort over and Dzeko, set free by Misimovic's backheel, shot weakly at Hugo Lloris with Lulic well placed.

Malouda's drive struck Bosnian captain Emir Spahic and Remy was denied by the offside flag.

Dzeko should have given his side the lead when, clear on goal after a slick break, he took a poor first touch and screwed a dismal left-foot effort yards wide.

The Manchester City striker wasted another good opportunity when he failed to make a clean contact with Mensur Mujdza's cross, but made amends two minutes later.

Misimovic's free-kick caught France cold and Dzeko turned Adil Rami before superbly curling home right-footed from just outside the penalty area.

Stoke keeper Asmir Begovic replaced Hasagic for the second half, which began with Dzeko shooting wide again.

Malouda's cross flashed across goal with Remy just unable to make contact and Patrice Evra's delivery also eluded the Marseille forward, who then shot wide from 12 yards.

Bosnia seemed content to cling on, albeit in frantic fashion, but a rare foray upfield saw Dzeko head Miralem Pjanic's free-kick wide.

Begovic saved Marvin Martin's awkward bouncing free-kick after Boris Pandza clumsily ended Jeremy Menez's jinking run.

Another free-kick, from Nasri, was pushed onto the underside of the bar and Pandza cleared the loose ball.

Dzeko turned Abidal but his weak shot was saved by Lloris - and Scottish referee Craig Thomson then handed Nasri the chance to equalise from the spot.

The midfielder was fouled by Spahic and sent Begovic the wrong way for only his third international goal, his first since 2007.

Spahic partially redeemed himself with a crucial challenge on the marauding Patrice Evra and Begovic then clawed away Menez's shot.

The same player's cross eluded substitute Kevin Gameiro, who shot wide moments later.

Bosnia were denied a penalty when Evra appeared to haul down Spahic and they could not find a winner, leaving them facing a play-off tie next month.
