Real Madrid duo Gonzalo Higuain and Angel Di Maria were amongst the goals as Argentina defeated Nigeria 3-1 in an international friendly in Bangladesh.
Higuain and Di Maria both netted in quick succession to put Argentina 2-0 up after 26 minutes and in control of the contest.
Nigeria pulled a goal back right after half-time through Chinedu Obasi, but Argentina sealed the victory when Uwa Elderson inadvertently deflected the ball into his own net midway through the second period.
Argentina captain Lionel Messi, who has not scored for his country since a 4-0 win against Albania in June, again failed to find the back of the net but, as in Friday's 1-0 victory over Venezuela in Kolkata, the Barcelona superstar was instrumental in his side's triumph.
The reigning FIFA Ballon d'Or winner began causing the Nigeria defence problems early on, along with Higuain and Di Maria, and the trio combined to give Argentina the lead in the 24th minute.
Di Maria passed the ball infield to Messi, whose fine first-time pass found Higuain and the number nine controlled on the edge of the area before drilling a low shot into the corner of the net.
Two minutes after that it was 2-0, with Messi almost single-handedly putting the.goal on a plate for Di Maria.
Messi stole possession on the halfway line and then left three defenders trailing in his wake as he danced his way into the Nigeria penalty area.
The 24-year-old was denied the latest in a long line of memorable individual goals by a save from Nigeria goalkeeper Dele Aiyenugba, but the loose ball ran across the face of goal where the unmarked Di Maria tapped into an empty net.
That was the way the score remained until the break, but Nigeria got themselves back into the contest when they made it 2-1 within 60 seconds of the restart.
A pull-back from the goalline found Obasi 10 yards out and he side-footed a rising shot into the roof of the net.
However, Nigeria were to finish the match empty-handed as Argentina added a third goal in the 65th minute.
Di Maria fed his Madrid club-mate Higuain on the edge of the box and, although the striker's shot was saved by Aiyenugba, the rebound hit Elderson as he chased after Higuain and the ball ended up in the back of the net.
The victory leaves Argentina with a 100% record from their two-match tour of India and Bangladesh and sees new coach Alejandro Sabella continue his winning start to life in the hotseat.
