Paris St Germain moved to the top of the Ligue 1 table after seeing off fellow high-fliers Lyon at the Parc de Princes.
The big-spending capital club went close to opening the scoring when Javier Pastore's shot was deflected against the post by Lyon's Kim Kallstrom, but the first goal did not come until the 64th minute.
Pastore, the club's marquee summer signing, was the scorer and his was the only difference between the sides until Christophe Jallet made sure of the points with a wonderful volley in injury-time.
The result puts PSG on 20 points from nine matches, three ahead of Lyon, Montpellier and Toulouse.
PSG were out of the blocks quickly and put together a flowing team move after only four minutes, culminating in Jeremy Menez's through ball to Kevin Gameiro, who drew a first save from Hugo Lloris.
There was not another clear sight of goal until the 19th minute when Pastore picked up Gameiro's pass and shot at goal, with Kallstrom's intervention seeing the ball against the post.
Menez found space to test Lloris again moments later before Lyon finally pieced together a chance of their own, Alexandre Lacazette's diving header flying just over the crossbar.
Lacazette sent another chance high but the half ended with PSG pressing but Lloris was able to save a deflected Pastore effort and a rocket from Diego Lugano.
Lyon forward Bafetimbi Gomes nodded wide with the first chance of the second half and in the 64th minute, Pastore broke the deadlock.
Menez was the provider, beating Lloris at the near post with a left-footed strike.
Lyon were short of ideas in attack and PSG could have added to their score before Jallet lashed home Nene's free-kick first time in the closing seconds.
