Ten-man Lyon came from behind to earn a draw at Brest as both sides continued their unbeaten starts to the new Ligue 1 season.
Brest midfielder Benoit Lesoimier gave the hosts an early lead and it looked as though they would hang on for the win when Sidy Kone was dismissed just after the hour.
But Bafetimbi Gomis struck not long after the red card to secure a share of the spoils for Lyon as Brest drew their third league game in succession.
Lesoimier scored in the 12th minute after converting Larsen Toure's flick on from Bruno Grougi's cross, his effort from inside the area clipped the post on its way past Hugo Lloris.
Lyon had a chance to pull level in the 31st minute but Brest goalkeeper Steeve Elana was equal to Kim Kallstrom's well struck free-kick.
The hosts then went straight down the other end and almost doubled their lead when Toure fired in a low shot that was well saved by Lloris.
The France international goalkeeper was again called into duty shortly afterwards when he kept out Nolan Roux's effort at full stretch.
Lyon's job was then made harder when Kone was shown a straight red card for a two-footed challenge on Roux but the visitors were spurred on by going a man down and Gomis equalised eight minutes later when he coolly finished after being played in by Miralem Pjanic.
Michel Bastos then had a great chance to win the game for Lyon but his shot flew inches wide of Elana's post.
