PSG rescue a point at mid-table Lorient |
|
A goal two minutes into injury time from Nene helped Paris St Germain to rescue a point at mid-table Lorient.
Lorient had taken the lead shortly after the half-hour mark through Lynel Kitambala, before Nene's late intervention.
The result keeps PSG in the top four on goal difference, with Lorient six places further back in 10th.
PSG looked dangerous from the off and Ludovic Giuly worked Fabien Audard inside the first minute, before Nene warmed his palms from distance.
It was all one-way traffic and Guillaume Hoarau headed a Nene cross against the outside of the post, before the home team found some rhythm and cracked the bar through Kevin Gameiro.
PSG stopper Gregory Coupet then had to be at his best to push away Morgan Amalfitano's shot, before the scoring was opened in the 31st minute.
Amalfitano whipped in a corner that found Kitambala, who controlled his strike into the bottom corner.
Nene played in Hoarau who was denied by Audard as PSG looked for a response, with the keeper again outstanding as he kept out a Hoarau header.
The keeper was stealing the show and that continued into the second half as he kept out a Mathieu Bodmer volley, and then, when all superlatives had been used, he pulled out a stunning reflex save to keep out Bodmer's header.
Stephane Sessegnon skimmed a post as PSG got closer and they got the goal their dominance deserved as Nene picked up a Bodmer flick to finally beat Audard.
