Bordeaux with a last-minute winner |
|
Nancy dropped into the Ligue 1 relegation zone after Bordeaux snatched a highly controversial last-minute winner.
Jaroslav Plasil's free-kick looked to hit Wendel's hand on its way towards goal, with television replays also indicating the ball had not fully crossed the line.
However, the 'goal' was allowed to stand despite furious protests from Nancy players and officials, giving Bordeaux their third home win of the season.
The home side had taken the lead after 22 minutes when Ludovic Sane headed home from a corner taken by Benoit Tremoulinas.
And they dominated the first half with Yoan Gouffran setting up Anthony Modeste for a volley which was bravely blocked by Nancy defender Jordan Loties.
After 32 minutes, Tremoulinas beat two defenders before firing in a left-footed shot which brought a good save from Damien Gregorini.
Nancy came back into the game after the interval and Julien Feret curled a shot into the side-netting after good work from Alfred N'Diaye and Alexandre Cuvillier.
And Feret came even closer to scoring on 51 minutes when another curling effort from outside the area clipped the outside of the post.
The visitors eventually drew level on 82 minutes when Bordeaux failed to clear the ball in the area and Paul Alo'o Efoulou pounced to fire home from close range.
But a precious point was snatched away in the dying minutes when Plasil's free-kick appeared to hit Wendel on the hand and failed to cross the line, only for the goal to be allowed by the officials.
