Paris St Germain settle for a draw
Paris St Germain rattled the woodwork three times in the final six minutes but were forced to settle for a draw at home to Rennes.

Jerome Leroy put the visitors in front just after the half-hour mark, but Guillaume Hoarau levelled in the 64th minute.

Abdou Kader Mangane hit the bar for Rennes with 10 minutes to go before Pegguy Luyindula, Mevlut Erding and Hoarau all saw efforts come back off the frame of the goal in a hectic finish.

Stephane Sessegnon fired wide for the hosts with the first chance of the game before Rennes forward Sylvain Marveaux sent a shot over the top.

But Leroy put the visitors in front in the 32nd minute. Fabian Lemoine released Jimmy Briand, who beat Zoumana Camara and set up Leroy to slot the ball home at the far post.

Erding's layoff gave Hoarau the chance to get a shot in as PSG looked for an immediate response, but goalkeeper Nicolas Douchez blocked the low drive.

The hosts' had their own keeper to thank for preventing them going further behind a minute before the break.

Marveaux's free-kick picked out Petter Hansson at the far post, but Apoula Edel kept out the Swede's header which had looked destined for the top corner.

PSG were first to threaten in the second half and Yann M'Vila cleared Hoarau's superb header off the line.

Rennes continued to look dangerous, though, as Marveaux had a drive blocked by Edel and Leroy sent a lob inches wide.

But the capital club drew level through Hoarau, who headed home Christophe Jallet's cross from around the penalty spot.

Both sides looked for a winner in a thrilling final 10 minutes, Kader Mangane meeting Jires Kembo Ekoko's corner unmarked at the far post only to see his header come back off the bar.

Second-half substitute Luyindula then fired a strong shot against the right post and, in the first minute of stoppage time, Erding's header hit the other post.

And the woodwork came to Rennes' rescue for a third time a minute later as Hoarau's header from Sessegnon's corner rebounded off the bar.
